Originally a Dutch shipping company, with menus and daily programs in Dutch, with over 130 years of experience, Holland America Line is one of the undisputed leaders in the cruise segment in the world. The American company currently has 15 ships, offering tourists almost 500 cruises from 25 ports, with a total of 320 ports of call.
Among the most popular cruise line destinations are the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Australia and New Zealand, Alaska, but also cruises around the world.
Holland America Line has invested huge sums in a program generically called the "Signature of Excellence", a program that aims to modernize all its ships.
Improvements can be seen both in the facilities on board, such as the Culinary Art Center for gastronomic demonstrations, the Lido restaurant or the shore tour desk, as well as in the interior architecture.
You can discover the flavor of gourmet food and fine wines by participating in programs organized at the Culinary Arts Center. You will watch cooking demonstrations by famous cookbook authors, participate in wine tastings with wine experts and take courses for cooking.
You will be able to enjoy delicious food in the on-board restaurants, the price of the cruise including meals and refreshments. Thus, you can have breakfast in the morning, at the restaurants available in "buffet style", at lunch in "buffet" or "A La Carte" menu and in the evening only in the menu option "A La Carte".
There are several drinks available for free, such as breakfast in the morning, where passengers can serve themselves, through the dispensers available at the Swedish buffet, with: plain water, natural fruit juice, tea, coffee, milk, etc. Consumption of other beverages, juices or alcoholic beverages served on board is charged separately.
Smoking on board is only allowed in designated areas. Smoking is not allowed in the cabin.
The official tip (service fee) is paid at the end of the cruise, on board the ship and is:
• $ 14.5 per person / night for standard cabins
• $ 16 per person / night for suites.
Facilities for children and younger people vary depending on the cruise ship and the number of children on board. Babysitting is available for children up to 3 years old between 22:00 and 24:00. (not on board Prinsendam). In some cases, a babysitting program can be arranged outside of these hours.
Unfortunately, pregnant women, for 24 weeks or more, are not allowed on board.
